Angry DirectX9.0a

Hi All from a new user, have just installed a new system with SP1 and upgraded to DirectX9.0a. When restarting computer hangs at "starting windows" screen. Will not allow a return to last good configuration setting. Can this upgrade be removed ? if not ,if I reload Windows over the existing files will I have to re-install all the software that has been loaded. Thanks in advance.Danf

If you can repair your installation all your other apps should be OK.

According to Microsoft, you can't uninstall DirectX 9.0a, which is why they recommend that users create a Restore Point before downloading it. DirectX 9.0b has some fixes for 9.0a, you may want to move up rather than down. If you decide to install DirectX 9.0b, create a Restore Point first.
