Not able to send or receive fax

Hi, I have Windows xp (Proffess..) in my seystem , Recently I installed bitware fax software in my system, But I am not able to send or receive fax, every time I press a dial a fax in bitware, It shows a message in lower bar of transmit fax that"can not open the com port device" Can any one help me in this regard.
Thanks (I have internal modem installed)

Have you set the modem up with the software ? Usually an options menu somewhere in the software asking what modem it should use etc.
