Problem with my hp 1070.uk with windows updates

Hi im am really in a tight spot here so im asking for any advice and help you may beable to offer.

My problem is with my hp media center 1070.uk desktop pc

System info of top of my head -

Hp media center m1070.uk desktop pc
model number - pj37833

Cpu is a p4 3.00ghz (says it has x2 of these some duel thread techno i think)
i have 756mb of ram (1x 512 and 1x 256)
150gb HDD
nvidia gforce fx 5500 256mb
Sound Blaster audiogy
2x DvD RW 8x

Windows version - Windows xp media center edition 2004

(this was what happend after i tried the sp1 drivers)
after update windows with all the critical updates prior to SP2 , after a full HDD format and after i have reinstalled windows using the recovery discs, al i get after i restart my pc is a black screen it doesnt attempt to load windows at all

(installing SP2 without doin sp1 first)
the same problem sp2 will install and reboot and load normally. But when i attempt to update all critical updates and reboot my computer its loads up and once again goes to a black screen

i have updated my pc prior to SP2 with the following hp driver/software updates http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...3 125&lang=en

after i have installed these and put sp2 on, i still get the same problem is there somthing i could be missing ive tried reading up on similar problems but cant seem to find a soulution that helps my problem

any advice links etc are greatly appreciated or emails to danny20041@msn.com
