XP SP1 and Biostar M7VKQ problem

Hello all, I have a problem with trying to load SP1 onto a system with a BIOSTAR M7VKQ motherboard.

I tried simply installing the service pack, but system locked up during boot up. Then I tried to go into safe mode, but it would lock up on a WUP??? file.

So, I repartitioned the hard drive, reloaded XP got all working and tried to load SP1, again the system locked up.

(reloaded XP, went to my trusty IBM laptop and installed the SP1 with no problems and went back to the troublesome BIOSTAR)

Third time I made an (XP with SP1) boot disk, reformated the harddrive for the 2nd time and tried to load, the machine will not boot with the CD, only gets to the starting windows portion. (I did boot up a HP motherboard machine with the same cd)

So I'm thinking that there is some problem with the BIOSTAR motherboard? I'm using a Duron 900 chip and have 256 meg of ram.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
