Shared Drive Access Delay
I've got some shared drives mapped to a file server.
When connecting to these drives (i mean going into My Computer and double clicking) there is a connection delay- exploer hangs all instances of itself and it takes about 15 seconds for it to kick in and give me a file list.
There are no delays in conintually using the drive. However, if I don't use it for say a half hour, and then again try to access it, there is that same delay.
I've for many 2k boxes mapping the same drives in the same way on the same network- no delay. No delay with 98 either. Only XP Pro (haven't tested XP home).
Tried messing with TweakUI, hoping maybe there were some crazy MS features I could turn off, but no luck.+
Any ideas?
