Couple of Problems Need Help

Hi All..

Need some advice ...

I am running XP - Home / HP Pavilion / 80 GB HD/ 512 Ram
Norton Antivirus and Firewall


The problem started last weekend ... I use Avant as my default browser and it has been working fine .. but now when I try and send an email using a "mailto" type link on any web page link I keep getting an error message.. which states:

"Could not perform this operation because the default mail client is not properly installed!"
The title bar shows: Microsoft Internet Explorer

.. I not having any problem receiving e-mail or sending it... I just cannot access it with a "mailto" link...

I have gone into properties / options in advant and re listed my email client many times .. so I don't this is the problem... so now I am turning to the guns for some help...
