Help
i have had a serious problem with my windows xp
i formatted my disk and well it just plane is inpredictable
i insert my winxp cd
go into bios turn on fail-safe mode
then i make it boot
1. cdrom
2. hdd-0
3. floppy drive
i activate my floppy drive ( for good measure)
next i go into boot from cd
windows setup appears
it procedes for about three minutes
then it eaither
a. continues to end of setup
1. it asks me to press enter to continue
2. i do
then it states please wait... at bottom of screen
after about 2 more minnutes the cd drive stops spinning
6hrs l8r (went to mall and high school soccer game)
it still said "PLEASE WAIT..."
i hit restart
b. it comes up with a funny error message
a problem has been detected and windows has shut down in order to prevent damage to your computer.

if this is the first time you have seen this error screen then restart the computer. If not follow these steps to correct it:
check to make sure any new hard or soft ware is properly installed. if this is new then consult your hard or software manufacturer
if the problem continues disable shadowing and cacheing options in the BIOS. Also remove any uneeded new hardware

i di all of the preceding steps and i still dont have a clue what to do
i currently primarily see the error message.
i have no idea what to do and i dont wanna pay some one 70$ to fix this by pressing enter about 1 dozen times and entering a cd-key
