help with install

someone plz help !!! I'm trying to format my harddrive and install win98. what I have now is a startup floppy, a win98 cd, and a dos prompt.!!!

What I need are step by step directions to format the drive, copy any files from startup disk, and get win98 installed. please do NOT assume I know something, because I probably don't. thanks in advance for your help

1. Switch off PC
2. Insert Boot Floppy & Switch PC on
3. wait until floppy has loaded & make a selection which will appear on the screen. So if you got the Win98 cd in, then Boot with CD support (or whatever it says)

4. At the dos Prompt type format c: (or whatever drive letter your hard drive is) (it will then make sure you want to go ahead, so type Y)

5. Following on screen instruction, to name your hard drive (if you want etc..)

6. After formatting has completed, & your at the dos prompt again type 'setup' and the win98 installation should start.


Easy as that, then just follow the on screen instructions to install the OS
