Angry BIG PROBLEM driver not installing

HELP.. Urgent assistance needed, Please read!!!!

I have just bought my sis a new digi/web cam for a birthday prezzie and I cannot install it.
Tried several times, Each time it installs all software with no problem and asks to reboot.
when startup compleated it still will not recognise the camera although it knows something is in the USB port.
I have installed loads of things before and know ways around it all like using the direct setup from the disk, Downloading the most recent driver allowing to search the web itself Etc.
each time I run the disk it still shows that the main camera installer is not yet installed.
I checked the twain folders to as suggested and it's all in there.
Looking on the net someone suggested looking in the device maneger in the sys properties folder and checking it is listed under Imaging Devices.....

Imaging Devices does not exist!!!!!

What else Pleeeeaaaase.
I go home tomorrow and want to get this sorted for her so we can stay in touch..

All/any suggestions appreciated.

Are you using a usb hub? If so, try plugging the camera into a main usb port.

Main USB port and ran a check and it says no probs.
The cam by the way is a SiPix stylecam Snap and my sis's PC is a Packard bell 1.5G 256Ram , Thats all the product info I can think of and tried both their sites with no luck!!!!

please, More suggestions no matter how vague, It could be something really silly I just didn't think about (I am logged in as an administrator before you suggest that)

Did you install using the "Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard"?

Start > Control Panel (in classic view) > Scanners and Cameras > Add an Imaging Device (in the upper left panel) > Scanner and Camera Installation Wizard
