Ok..this is my dialema,
Im running a P2-400, half gig ram..13.6gig(sumthing) HDD.
After an intial reboot my cpu will be idle at around 6-7 percent...which i gather is pretty normal for a slow processor running XP. After a day or two even a few hours...the CPU usage starts to get higher. maybe after 3 hours..it will be around 12-15 %..then...24 hours later... 40-50 %...then another 24 hours later...70-80...and eventually....100%. The process running at the full usage is "SYSTEM"....so after a reboot..it goes back to normal.
Then off it goes. on its way to 100%...Typing a message is fun...youl be cranking out 50 wpm..and youll literally have to wait to see what words will come up...and playing Counter Strike..well..thats another kettle of fish..my favourite..(and only decent playable game-for me and the power of my PC) is a night mare..infact it makes me want to turn into the HULK and SMASH everything.
SYSTEM goes up...but the RAM used stays around 220k...
Please help me...im poor...and the only way im geting rid of this machine..is when the museum wants it for their "Y2K" display
