Can't open links........grrrrr

Hey everyone,

I'm new here, so bear with me. Anyway.......I've been having this problem since I bought my new computer. Some links I click on in Internet Explorer just will not open.

When I click on the link, a blank window pops up, and that is it. Sometimes I get lucky, and I will close that window, go back to the link, copy the url, and paste it above. It works, and I get to the site I was looking for.

Other times, that doesn't work, and I'm pretty much just out of luck. I've also had problems with almost all javascript links, but I'm not able to copy and paste those links as a cheap remedy. I can be online looking at my cel phone bill, for example. I read this, I read that, then I click on the link to open up previous bills, and boom.........javascript.........can't open.

Any help is greatly appreciated.......I'm getting sick of ignoring this for so long.

Thanks,
-SLAPPSHOT

internet links

Are you currently using any form of popup stopper/killer etc as these utilities can interfere with the internet links as quite often they cannot distinguish between a genuine request for a link to be opened or a popup advert.I myself use popup stopper free edition and in many instances I have to override the program by keeping the ctrl key depressed while I click the link.Let me know how you are getting on.pcfanatic2.

If you suspect that it's a Java problem, check out these Java Tester sites.

Here's a SSL testing site.

ESALADUANE, I can't thank you enough.

The following did for me:

RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem in Internet Explorer, follow these steps:
Quit all programs that are running.
Click Start, and then click Run.
Type regsvr32 urlmon.dll, and then click OK.
When you receive the "DllRegisterServer in urlmon.dll succeeded" message, click OK.

Thanks again.
