Simple Question, I Hope

Hello,

I am using XP Pro and somehow, when another window opens, it is minimized. It use to open full screen. Dont know what changed, but I would like it go back to full screen when another window opens. Any help would be much appreciated.

If you're referring to secondary Internet Explorer windows, here's the fix:

1. Open Internet Explorer and go to a page with links
2. Right click on a link and left click on "Open in new window"
3. In the new window, using the left mouse button, drag the sides and corners to stretch it to the size and placement you want. Do not use the Maximize button as this is a temporary settings which IE will forget
4. Close the original window first. If you do not close it first, this will not work
5. Close the secondary window you resized

All future secondary windows will then open to the size and placement of that last window you closed.

Word of warning...if you get a popup that open a half-size window, be sure to close it before closing any of the full-size windows. If a half-size popup window is closed last, you may have to do the whole re-sizing thing again.

Also, if you forget (as I have more times than I want to admit) and press the Maximize button on a secondary window and that window ends up being closed last, you may have to do the whole re-sizing thing again.

That annoying little "feature" of Internet Explorer's wanting to open secondary windows half size is one of the reasons I switched to Firefox.

Firefox is another web browser and looks similar to Internet Explorer. It has some features IE doesn't have and is somewhat more secure than IE.

Since Firefox is growing in popularity, it's being targeted by spyware, too, although not quite as heavily as IE.

If you want to try it out, you can download it from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox. It's free.
