Help? Outlook won't save/remember Password
I saw a thread on this several months ago, but can't seem to find it now. I have XP Home. When I open Outlook, normally it will automatically run "send/receive". Every once in a while when it will try to check for new email messages, based upon the time frequency that I have set (5 min), Outlook pops up a message box for me to login (AGAIN) to my email server, with username, password, and a box to check if I want Outlook to remember the password. The message box already has all of the correct information in it, except the "box" is not checked to remember the password. Sometimes it takes 3-4 attempts before it will work.
What do I need to do to make Outlook remember my login information?
Thanks

is that Outlook Express or Outlook full version ? either way, go to your Email account property / Server / Setting and check mark the option to indicate "Use Same logon setting for incoming mail.
cheers

Still Lost
I am running just Outlook. When I go into Tools / Email Accounts / View or Change / Internet Email Settings / ...I get a pop up box that has user info in the top left corner, server info in the top right, Logon info (username & Password) on the bottom left, and a test section on the bottom right with an another button for more settings. No where do I find the path that you suggested. Under more settings I see outgoing server settings and a box that says "use same settinigs as my incoming mail server". The only problem is that I never have the problem on outgoing, just incoming. Just every once in a while it seems to forget that it already knows my name & password, not all the time.
I'm still lost.......

I have the same problem, can't get XP Professional to remember passwords in most applications. I upgraded from Windows 2000 and am running Outlook 2000. I've done what you suggested, I've turned on auto-complete in the internet options, so far nothing has helped. I'm suspecting a carry over problem from Windows 2000 Professional.
