Delay After Bootup

I used most of the performance tweaks including shutting down

"backround intelligence"

Im still getting a delay after booting up and once i get to the desktop

Hour glass stays on and unable to access anything for at least 30 seconds

Hard drive then kicks in as if somethings running

I uninstalled firewall but no help

It didnt do this right after Win XP install

Nothing is in start up

Any program that would show me exactly whats running after bootup besides task manager?

What programs are needed or requried to be running in task manager?[bare minimum]

try running scandisk or checkdisk. i know this sounds weird but i once had that problem and checkdisk fixed it. right click on hard drive then properties->tools->error checking

have you checked for spyware? it is always worth checking for it install ADAWARE and delete what it finds, also ahve you checked for a virus? also defrag your computer can also speed up your bootup a bit.

Tried all those possible fixes

Found out if you go into services and uncheck "workstation"

and reboot i dont have the delay anymore.

try the bootvis tool, you will need to search google now that microsoft no longer hosts the download
