ok try TROJAN HUNTER also do an online scan as AVG although it is good can miss certain things like other AVs do, so check with this for a virus it does it over the internet and has found viruses others have missed, just click scan now also it will ask you to install there programme just say yes it is fine it is only small and it has to install to get access to your hard drive

Glennie55 posted the same thing you mentioned here last night, turned out to be a spyware app. try running adaware or spybot, i recommend adaware for people not familiar with these tools, it's not as aggressive as spybot and can be easily undone if what it removes turns into a problem.
http://download.com.com/3000-2094-10...ml?legacy=cnet
that is for adaware, it is free.

scouse, didnt think, and trying to keep my replys short, because i have been repremanded at other forums for being longwinded, posted the link to the latest version of adaware, which even when downloaded still needs to click the check for updates link and update the reference files. have run accross alot of people with older versions of adaware, or ones that have not been updated. will strive to be more descriptive.

have you tried to repair ie? go to add/remove programs then add/remove windows components, highlight ie explorer, leave the check mark in it, click next, after it is done. reboot, see if that helps at all.
