Slowdown while leaving Comp unattended

Hey people

Whenever I leave the computer for a short while to check on something or shower, when I come back to the comp my ram stays at around 5MB, which is wierd. But when I am continiously using the comp, the ram stays around a healthy 100MB, I have 256MB RAM and a 300-800 paging file on a drive and I'm running FreeRAM XP Pro.

Thanks,
