Unhappy Microsoft Outlook Emails

Where would Outlook store the emails from your inbox? I have looked in the application data. I guess the emails are not stored in a .pst file. Where else would they be? In the C:\Documents and Settings\.....\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook folder there are four files but no .pst files. I cannot even start XP anymore and I am just trying to salvage the emails. Thanks.

You can do a search for pst files by opening the search function and typing in "*.pst" the asterix before the .pst tells the computer to search for all .pst files on the compter.

Hope it helps,
Timekeeper

Is it possible that the emails may be stored in another type of file besides the .pst file? Thanks.

Thanks for the help. The search app was not looking in the hidden folders and files.

C:\Documents and Settings\default user\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{your user info here}\Microsoft\Outlook Express
have to show hidden files.
may have to change default user to your account name and drop the express for outlook, if you have outlook, not outlook express.
