Problem using Office XP

Hi,

We have very big LAN setup and are using Microsoft Windows 2000 server as our file and print server.
At the client end we are using Win95/98/ME and recently we purchased 42 new m/c's with Win XP and office XP.

Now the problem is that the users using Office Xp are facing a very peculiar problem. When they are trying to access their microsoft excel files which are stored in the file server they are getting error messages like "you don't have access to this file " or " file is already in use" or "no such file is there" . But when we checked at the server end , there the status of files is shown opened. When we close the file from the server and tell user to open the file from his PC then the file opens without giving any error.
Can Please tell how to solve this problem or what is the cause of this problem...

I'm having the very same set of problems... been doing searches like crazy, but have yet to find anything that will help. I'm using 2k server, have an XP pro box in a domain setup, with office xp. The user is having all sorts of problems with files, corruption, etc. No one else has these problems, however no one else is using office xp.

Any help or thoughts would be appreciated...
