Red face Problems with removable Storage Devices

Sony VAIO PCV-RX550, with Pioneer CDR and Sony CRX175E CD-RW: XP explorer doesn't recognize teh CDRW and neither does NEro. Everything was fine until I loaded PowerProducer 2 whcih ran diagnostic test. I uninstalled it, and tried all sorts of stuff, reinstall drivers, reinstlal Nero, reinstall and finally totally uninstall the PowerPRoducer. I hae run Norton WinDoctor to ensure that the registry was clean.

On Computer Mgmt, I don;t see either of the CD ROMs under library.

Can some one please help?

Thanks

what is power producer? did it test your cd/rw drive? if so it may well of messed with the firmware if so you may be able to retrieve it by doing a firmware upgrade for the drive IF that is the problem.
