Having problem with the "send to" option

Having a big problem with trying to move a file or folder, icon etc. by right clicking it then going to the "send to" option. When just hovering over the send to option everything on monitior EXCEPT the desktop picture dissappears just for a few seconds then open windows come back so the only way I can move something is by cut/pasting it. Also, going to "My Computer" then right clicking a hard drive, clicking on "explorer" the My Computer window closes. If anyone has any info on why this is happening please,please let me know. I dont want to have to reinstall windows and lose all info because of this. Paypal reward of $20 (I promise) to anyone who can give me the solution to this mess.

this sounds very much like virus activity, have you applied the msblaster patch and all the other windows critical updates? have you run a online virus scan to double check your on board?

Thanks for reply-- Yes Ive keep my machine up-to-date with all MS patches, I use Norton AV

I dont think its a virus related problem
