XP Pro Installation Problems!!

I have recently built myself a new PC - Athlon XP1600 1.4ghz, 128mb ddr memory, 60gig HDD, a Geforce2 mx440 etc!, when i try to install/update to XP Pro from any of the 3 seperate copies of XP Pro corporate i have got, the installation will start installing the files and it will fail at about 2%, it tells me that it cannot find a certain file! if i keep pressing retry the setup will actually continue, telling me that different files cannot be found!, about 100 in total, 1 after another, although i can make the installation complete by just pressing retry!! when the computer is restarted it will give me the xp pro statup screen then give me a blue screen saying that some files are corrupt and tells me to restart!!!, can some1 please help as i am running windows 98 and it is just doing my nut!!!! thanx!!

what kind of power suipply do you have ???? I was running a 300 watt supply and was having the same problem. I purchased a new 400 watt supply and all is well with the world of xp !!
