Question Unable to format...why?

I have recently partition my hard drive to 20GB and wanted to farmat it but the format process takes forever(After leaving for about 2 hours..still running at 0%). The HDD light just lights up continously.

Has anyone experience this before? Any solution on how to format hard drive properly?

Make a floppy boot disk you can get from bootdisk.com, boot from it then from command line enter "format \x" w/o quotes x being the drive letter you want to format.
