Wireless Setup in XP

i have a netgear wireless router through which I used to connect to my wireless card in my laptop.

nowdays i see a new linksys router name in my "view available wireless connection list'

the problem is every time i log in or switch on my laptop my card
takes the linksys router connection as default, even if i try to change it to netgear , it still goes back to the linksys connection after 5 min.

any ideas how i can restrict my wireless card to access my router only...and not the linksys one.

first question, do you have a linksys router ?
next, have you right clicked it and disabled it?

sorry for the confusion, what i meant to say was have you tried to disable the linksys router, i am curious how it got installed if you dont have one.

i think someone in my neighbourhood has it, because it shows
on "view available wireless network" when i right click the network icon on the taskbar.

btw i just installed the firmware, that too did not help.
my connection still goes back to the linksys router

this would be what i would do, first i would go to the device manager and remove it and reboot, if it reinstalls, in network connections, i would right click it and select disable. this should make it a non issue.
