win messenger shows on the front the blocked and active contacts.
when i go into tools and then on the card where i can block names, i suddenly find a person listed, whom i never heard of or don't know about:
"(K)(K)sexy for 56(K)(K)", benoitamanda@hotmail.com (.NET Messenger Service).
it is not shown on the front page. although it is blocked and listed with the other contacts. could this harm my computer? is this a new type of virus?

Some times people who send you spam email get added to msn messenger.

sometimes people just change there name on the messenger i do it all the time .............. hold your mouse pointer over the name and it should give you the email address of that person and see if you know who it belongs to then.

i know a there is a virus that sends out a file to all ur friends on ur WM buddy list and takes control of it....where u really cant do anything in WM because it is in use. Thats the only real virus i have seen that has caused problems with Windows Messenger
