Auto Updates?

I've all of a sudden lost the ability to obtain any updates from the M$ updates site! All I get is administrators!!....... I've followed all the trouble shooting hints and instructions from M$ and one from this forum (replace the CATROOT2 file) but still can't get any updates. I think this happened after the SP1a update! Any help would be appricated.
Thanks.......Lyle

Have you seen this page? Also, note the link to the "Windows Update Troubleshooter" in red.

Thanks Allan for your reply.
I have read and checked the registery edits that you suggested and performed those that I could, there is no entry in the first one as it suggested and have doubled checked the second for permissions and they are already set to the proper levels for Adminstrator and System. I also have applied the applicable trouble shooting steps at the M$ auto update site (RED) and nothing yet has fixed the problem. I hope I don't have to re-load windows!.......Still can't do updates!
It's a single, stand alone computer in my home office and I couldn't help but notice how many items/users that where listed in the permissions part! along with the new entry of EVERYONE that M$ had me enter.

If you feel that the problem started after installing SP1a, have you considered uninstalling/re-installing it? You can find SP1a in your ADD/REMOVE list (near the bottom). Or, do a System Restore to a point before you downloaded SP1a (then re-install).

It now WORKS!
Referrence KB328010........WOW!
I don't know how or when my computer got so drastically changed, what with all the registery changes that had to have taken place but it's now working for the Automatic Updates.
Thank you for your help and steering me in the right direction.
The information eventually came from the Windows Update site that you recommended.
Regards.........wellvideo
