Angry Unable to load requested page

I am unable to connect to apple.com. I am using Mozilla 1.3 and receive the following error:

'Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.'

I know that cookies are enabled for Mozilla, and don't have a problem connecting to any other web site.

When I use Internet Explorer 6, it tries to connect but repeatedly redirects me in an infinite loop.

I have tried using various other web browsers, such as Opera and Mozilla Firebird, with the same results.

Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

I have no problem connecting with IE or Opera but Firebird shows a blank page. Have you tried to disable your firewall and popup stopper?

Don't have a firewall running, and I have added apple.com to my exception list in the Popup Windows preferences in Mozilla, with the same result.

I know the site is fine as I can access it from work, and everyone else can too. I'm just trying to figure out what is wrong with my configuration.

Thanks for the suggestion though.

Have you tried deleting your cookies and history and then trying? They may have gotten corrupted.

Yep, tried that already. That's what I thought at first as well.

Fixed!

Well, I finally figured it out, thanks to Midknyte at the SysOpt forums!

http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthre...hreadid=148623

It was my HOSTS file. I had configured some mappings of IP addresses to host names using this file, and Apple.com was one of them. I had done this quite some time ago, and completely forgot about it. Apparently Apple.com's IP has changed since then, so that's why it would just redirect me in an indefinite loop.

Thanks Midknyte!
