Worth it to go XP Pro?

Hello all!

I am a user of both Windows XP Home and Mac OS X 10.2. I find my XP crashing constantly, often four times a day. This turned me down the path of OSX, and my Mac has never crashed for me. I still use my PC, and I would use it more if it didn't crash as much.

One of my friends uses XP Professional, and he says it is much more stable than Home. I've never tried it, and I'd like to hear what this forum thinks before I buy it. Thank you in advance!

-Matt

By the way- I use a 2.2 GHz Pentium 4 with 512 MB of RAM.

It very much depends on your hardware.
I've been using XP Pro for ages and i've never regretted it.

If XP Home crashes then Pro probally will too. I have used XP Home since it came out on three different machines and have had no problems . I did have some minor problems with an upgrade from 98 because I didn't do a clean install. It didn't crash , but it did some wierd stuff (some programs would quit responding) . I re-installed with a clean install. Reformatted the hard disk to NTFS and have had no problems at all. I upgraded 1 machine, bought one with XP Home pre-installed and loaded an OEM version of XP Home 2002 on one I built . If you are crashing like that it is probally not the OS.
