Unhappy XP memory upgrade

After upgrading memory from 256Meg to 512Meg XP freezes after booting to the desktop it runs fine with 256Meg.

I am using both pc133 memory and both banks work fine on there own.

I have heard of this problem b4 but now in need off the cure myself.

Anyone know the cure............

Tanks.

After i upgraded my laptop memory from 64mb to 320mb of ram it crashed when booting up and produced a blue screen and then restarted it couldn't even load into windows or even into safe mode i cured it by formatting the laptop and resinatlling everything i think that might be a hood idea but if you can get into windows then right click the "My Computer" icon and go to properties and see if it has added your ram also another way is trying to switch the ram around in the slots, then restart. Backup if you can before changing the ram slots around or you could loose everything. I never could backup so i lost all my things i had done If you reinstall windows then it might work.

hope it does.

well my guess is that it is something to do with your motherboard and that ram ..... but this is just a guess.

also you could try messing with your ram settings in your bios... see if that does anything..

also i would get good quality ram.... like ram from crucial.com

good luck
