cannot boot windows xp home

help, i cannot start my computer anymore, when it reaches the windows xp loading bit with the yellow blocks scrolling across the bar, it resets, and after trying to repair windows xp installation now does this:
stalls at blue error screen with shut down to prevent damage to your computer because of

*** STOP: 0x0000007e (0x0000005, 0xf89f253a, 0xf8988930, 0xf8988630)

any advice at all?

also part of the reinstalling part i came to required an administrator password, to which i don't rember setting ever, and what i have tried is wrong, will it be a default password?

did your copy of xp come on the computer, or do you have a xp cd, what i need to know, is do you have a format and recovery cd, or a xp install cd, xp upgrade, or on-board restore(like hp uses)

the computer came with xp installed and i have a product recovery windows xp cd rom
