New system problems

I have just bought a new tower unit with an ASUS P4S800 motherboard with a Pentium 4 3GHz with 256k graphics card and 500+ ddr ram.
I already owned Windows XP and have a good monitor, sound system etc so the unit came with nothing installed but the above mentioned. Where the heck do I start??, My monitor says there is "no signal" check leads, my daughters brand new Flat screen monitor says "no Video Input" How can I load windows if there is no screen?
Both monitors are working well on two other systems.
I would be really grateful for any help.

re:new system problems

hi derrylodge,,,,first of all,can you get into your bios settings, press delete when you first boot up,,also what graphics card do you have ,plus does it say no signal even at the first boot,if you get that "no signal" right away, what i would try is to shut it down, pull the power cord out of the back, take the side or cover off, make sure that you touch the computer frame first to release any static in you, then i would pull and re-insert the graphics card and the memory, but don't be rough on it,,then try again,,if that doesn't work,,we will go some where else to try,,and please post with the info,,and if you can get into your bios or not,,,

still having the same problem

Hi, thanks for the reply
Below is the exact details of what I bought. There is no operating system with it. I cannot get into anything as I have a blank screen on the monitor. If I disconnect the monitor from the computer (but keep the power on the monitor) then I get the error message, once plugged into the computer the screen on/off light goes off!
I have tried refitting the ram and the graphics card, I appreciate that they can seem fully fixed in when not, but I think they are bedded home ok.
Does this give you any clues to my problem.
Thanks again for taking the time to try and help.

Do you have another graphics card you can put in it? My bets on the Graphics card. Try swapping the new one into an old system and swapping an old card into the new system. Don't forget to plug the extra Molex (power) connector in to the new card.

And ALWAYS pay the extra buck for the company to test and burn-in the computer.
