read only folder wont change

Hi,

I have a folder in 'my documents' where all the preferences for a software i use get saved. The problem is that whenever i change any settings within my program it tells me it wont save the settings. I investigated why, and found out that my folder is read only.

I went into the properties of the folder and took off the read-only option.... I also granted myself full control to the folder using the security options in the preferences, but still my folder will not change from read-only. I change it, say ok, then check again, and it reverts back to read-only....

If you check the properties of other folders, you'll find they're all marked "Read only." It's unlikely that is the cause of the problem you're having with settings not being saved.

Which programs are you trying to save settings for? Is it a computer at home or at work? If it's at work, it may be set up to keep users from changing certain settings.

I'm having this problem with a music folder I accidently placed on the desktop....any help would be great.
