Xp blue screen

i just upgraded my cpu and when i start up xp i gave a blue screen and gave a code for 0x0000007E.......i already look at microsoft website and it says something to do with my soundcard...i already unplugged my sc and reformat my hd but i still got a blue screen.........it's strange eventhough i didn't use my sc i still have the blue screen............when i used to have my old cpu.......i had no problem at all........the OS was the sam...xp

I've been there, I had the same error message, blue screen. I have seen also that it is a sound card error on the microsoft website. I have done a brand new install of Windows XP Pro it didn't work. I found it was a driver problem and many people had a similar problems. Try to update your drivers.

do u mean my soundcard driver or some other drivers for my other hardware?i already got the latest one and still got that problem.....
does it do any harm if i just leave the blue screen.........i am just sick of this blue screen.......anyway thx for ur reply

I cannot say exactly, my problem was with my Game Controller driver. When I installed it, the website said it was XP compatible. I wrote them an e-mail saying it is not XP compatible, that my windows crashes, shows me error messages. They responded admiting they are making a new driver, but I was yesterday on their website (this happened about four months ago) and that driver is still available to download and there is no new driver.

oh ic............but when i used to have my pentium4 2.0A.........i had no problem at all.............this problem only occurs when i upgraded to P4 2.5B..........i already install a few times but the prbolem still exists...........very strange.............eventhough last time i unplugged my sc and re install xp........i still have the blue screen............it's very strange because my sc is not in the system but xp still gave the same error
