Keep losing my CDRW when playing Battlefield 1942

Hi there,

I've got a problem with my CDRW when playing battlefield 1942 or other games. I'll play a couple of games online with no problem and then when I go to switch to another sight my computer losses the CDRW. If I go into system hardware device manager the CDRW isn't there anymore so I have to reboot the computer to get it back. Anybody have any idea why this is happening.

Thanks in advance

F.O.G.

AMD athalon XP 2000
Gigabyte GA7ZXE MOBO

Hi there,

Sorry about that. It's an aopen 52X24X52 CDRW as for the model I'd have to open the machine up to pull it out to find out.

Thanks

Hi again,

Well I pulled the CDRW out of the machine and guess what. The model # is 52X24X52. I don't know what the F@*$k Aopen is doing but there you have it. I did get two other numbers though they are P/N:91.3ED37.011 and S/N 32501704JE H I am assuming they are the product number and the serial number but with these clowns who knows. Hope this helps.

Cheers
F.O.G.
