Display Properties Problem

Unable to open "Effects..." under the Appearance tab in "Display Properties". No other problems. Clicking on "Effects..." does nothing, nada, zilch! "Advanced" works on that same page and all the other options under the various "Display Properties" tabs function normally. Running Win XP home Ver 2002 with service pack 1 installed on a Dell Dimension 8200 series.

Have you used any tweaking or security programs lately? It sounds like the button was disabled.

No tweakiing programs and using only ZoneAlarm ver.3.7.211 but did download Desktop Architect about the time this started. Uninstalled "Architect" and removed all entries for it from the registry.
Couldn't find an entry for the "Effects.." options anywhere in the registry and MS Knowledge Base was no help either. Not a big problem since I can access the "Effects.." options through other means but being a control freak, I'm just wondering what I did and how I might be able to undo it. Thanks for your reply.

I'm sorry, I have been searching everywhere. I can't find anything on the "Effects" button.

Me neither but I really appreciate your help. Will post if I ever figure it out.
