I did a complete uninstall of norton systemworks, reloaded XP, that seemed to have taken care of the lockups. As far as the heating was concerned, that was going to be a weekend job that way I can get some more supplies (i.e. case fans, blow off spray, etc.). I appreciate all your help, and knight, I noticed my screw up on that previous post where I mentioned the 40-50 degrees, I wasn't in front of the machine and hadn't noticed the increase in temp until after I ran the BIOS hardware monitor, which I haven't used in a few months, that's when I noticed the high amount of heat and then I posted that as well, I apologize for all the confusion of that. But that aside, everything seems to be working at a nominal and more efficient pace, thanks guys for all the help and tips, glad I joined this forum, I'll be looking forward for further asistances with my problems and others as well.
