Names of some photos and sub directories in My Pictures disappear

When I click on My Pictures, some of the names of some sub directories and their photos have disappeared, while names of others are still visible.

What happened? I can't seem to get the names to return. Any ideas?

Pat

Do you mean the files themsevles in the folders have vanished, or just that the names and picture on the icons themselves have gone?

If its just the names and images, then make sure that the folder view option is set to "Thumbnails" or "large" icons, then any folders within it should show up with little images etc on the icons themselves.

No, the photos are still there, and the subdirectories which contain the photos are still there. However the names of *some* subdirectories disappeared, as did the names of the photos contained in those subdirectories.

Example, within "My Pictures," the directory named "Friends" has subdirectires named "College," "Work," etc. When "Friends" is opened up, there are no longer any names on *any* of its subdirectories, or the photos contained in those subdirectories.

But within "My Pictures," the subdirectory named "Family" still has all the names attached to its subdirectories and photos within those subdirectories.

Any ideas?

Thaks,

Pat
