Internet Explorer displays the wrong page

I am having a problem with Internet Explorer displaying the wrong pages. Sometimes, like 5 percent of the links I click on will take me to the wrong page. The strange thing is that when this happens it ALWAYS takes me to a page that I have previously visited instead of the page I was trying to reach. For example when I click on a link to ebay it will take me to google instead. Strangest of all, the address of the page that I was TRYING to get to will be in the address bar rather than the address of the page that is actually displayed.

I don't think that it is a virus or spyware because the pages that come up are pages that I actually go to. I have deleted all cookies and temporary internet files. I have also ran Ad-aware 6 as well as Spybot both with the latest reference files. I have also purged my cache, cookie and history folders with PurgeIE. I am using XP home with IE 6.

Thanks

I downloaded that from dictionary.com a while ago. I went ahead and removed it. I will wait and see if it happens again.

i am not sure if this is the problem but some programs like coolweb are not detected by spyware scanners, or if you have a old build of adaware, or spybot, they may not be able to detect the new spyware that is out.

that page details my opinion.
download the most recent spyware scanner often, adaware is up to build 181, not sure of spybot, or the others. but if you search for the name of yours, you can see if there is a new version out.
