Strange but true - Solution to disappearing names from folders in My Pictures

I wrote earlier of a problem I was having with names disappearing from some folders within My Pictures, as well as the names from the photos themselves within those folders.

After some trial and error, I found that by creating a New Folder within My Pictures, then transferring the photos from the folder that had lost all the names to the new folder, the names reappeared on the folders and their photos.

Then when I changed the name of the folder from New Folder back to the original name of the folder, that folder lost the names again. So I renamed it something else -- different from the original name of the folder -- and all the names came back.

Go figure!
