Is there an easy way to uninstall ME and install W98 without loosing all my programs and downloads or should I buy Windows 2000?

If you fancy Win2000, then that is the best option.

I know you can reinstall 98 over ME, but the original windows folder will be affected. You can rename the windows folder and install as normally, but some of a programs DLL's, .ini files etc may be located there. Iit would be a very involved job finding out what file to copy where so your original programs still worked (aside from the fact that a specific file version may have been used for ME)
