Ok....there are several methods of writing to CD-R blank discs, you can use the burning software that came with the machine to create a data CD and then burn the data files. Or if your computer came with software that allows copy/pasting to disc, there is a DLA software used on IBM machines for that purpose, adaptec made the DirectCD software, if there are others, please post. But make sure you have some type of software like I mentioned (DLA or DirectCD) installed and running, then you should be able to save like you would saving to a floppy or directly to the hard drive. Post the name brand of your laptop and attempt to contact the manufactur inquiring about the burning software installed with the machine. Also, be extra polite to the rep you talk to :P.
