Outlook receiving 3/4 copies of each email and..

Hello, I wonder if anyone can help.

For a while now Outlook (not express) has been receiving 2, 3 and sometimes 4 of each email I receive (which makes checking my email tedious since it can quadrupel an inbox of 75 spam emails into 300!)

Also ALL my emails go directly into the deleted items folder.

I have a few email rules set up - to send certain emails to certain folders, which it does fine, but it also sends a copy (or 2) straight to the deleted items folder as well.

I also set up a couple of junk email rules to send emails with certain words to the deleted items folder, such as viagra, xanax, porn etc, etc.

I know this isn't my ISP because I receive email from 2 different email accounts and it happens with both email accounts.

Any help is most definately appreciated!

I take it you have checked all your rules!

First thing to do is switch off your rules and download your email again.

If you still get problems it isn't a rule problem.

If you don't get multiple copies you have a problem with one or more of your rules ...

Enable one of your rules and download mail, keep doing this until your problem returns, you can then edit / delete the rule.

OK well, I turned off all the rules, and there seems to be some conflict with the junk email senders list (where you can right click an email and "add to junk senders list") and my own spam words rule, where I made a rule that any email with certain words should be sent to the deleted items folder.

Seems these were conflicting somehow since I turned back on all the other rules, and everything is now fine, no multiple messages and everything comes into the inbox.
