Reinstall Windows XP Home

I have an XP box at home that needs to be reimaged. The box didnt come with a CD for the OS, only a reader's guid to using system restore. Any way to reinstall Windows on this machine? Do I need a CD? Do I have any options?

Thanks,

Mike

Re:

No I do not have an image. Basically I want to reinstall the OS. Its an HP pavillion and the box did not come with a CD for the OS, any idea how I can reinstall XP Home? Someone told me that you can use Shift+F5 to reinstall, but I don't think that will work.

RE:

Um, I'm not sure of the model right now. It's actually my old man's box and I'm reinstalling the OS for him. I can check later tonight and then let you know. Thanks for the help!

HP is one of the companies that puts the recovery files on a hidden partition of the hard drive. I'd take another look at that Readers Guide and see if it doesn't contain Recovery instructions. If it doesn't, you may have to call HP.

"HP Recovery Solutions"
http://www.hp.com/hp-at-home/my/recovery/recovery.html

"Recovery Solutions Support for HP Pavilion Desktop PC"
