Media Player Won't Connect To Internet

Whenever I try to use WMP 10 for anything online using Internet Explorer, it says, "Page cannot be displayed." I am also unable to use IE by itself. My default browser is AOL and I'm on a dial-up connection. I'm guessing that my settings need to be adjusted because this happened before and I fixed it somehow, but I just can't recall what I did. If you need any more info or I didn't give enough details, just tell me. Any help would be greatly apprieciated.

Control panel > internet options > connection > "always dial my default connection" > apply > O.K.

Bad news. The first time I adjusted the settings, it worked fine. AOL started acting up so I shut it down and signed back on. However, when I tried IE again, it gave the "Page cannot be displayed" message. I went back into the settings and and the changes were undone, so I adjusted them again like you said, and I'm still getting that message. Any other suggestions?

Also, I dont know if this has anything to do with it, but the media player was connecting fine before I uninstalled the Service Pack 2.

Just a thought. Did you reboot after changing the IE settings? Sometimes it seems to need this to "fix" the new settings. Nothing ever works right with AOL.

Tried it. Still not working. When I set the IE configurations and Control Panel > Internet Options to "Always dial my default connection," the next time I check back, they're both set back to "Never dial a connection."

Just make sure you are online (connect manually or make it auto dial/connect) prior to using any applications requiring the Internet access.

Did that. No luck. My stupid configurations must be off, but I don't even know what they should be set at. I hate dial-up and AOL!
