Red face local disk icon changed

the local disk icon under my computer has changed, instead it shows an icon of a game(batman's revenge in this case).when i double click the icon i go to the game setup;but can access the folders inside local disk c by right clicking and selecting open. i then went ahead and deleted the setup files of the game that had not been removed even after uninstallation of the program.now the icon is replaced by a crumpled page icn and though clicking on it doesn't take me to the game i cant access my local disk unless i right click it.

system :
generic
p3 900 mhz
xp home
128mb ram

go to this site:

and download a VB script from line 119 and after saving it to your hard drive , run it... that should fix it.

I know that Microsoft have codes for their own Icon in the registry and they pull it from a dll file but I don't recall the registry entry right now.

cheers

Open your local disk and check for an autorun file. If there is one, open it and check to make sure that it isn't referring to a different icon type. If it does, try changing the file extension to an arbitrary value (.old). Then Restart your computer.

Right click the desktop, click properties, click desktop tab, customise desktop, click "my computer" icon, click restore default.
