Unable to access email, media files but browser works

Hi!

We're at a loss. Help!

We have a Compaq laptop 2135 running Windows XP Home Edition 2002 SP1, 30GB hard drive. We're accessing the Internet through a cable ISP and a Belkin Router. The problem is that the browser (IE current version) accesses the Internet fine but Outlook Express (current version) times out and we have the error code 0x800CCC19. The ISP accounts are all correct. We're also not able to access any Real Audio, Windows Media or Windows update files. We are able to download other files such as the free version of Eudora (used to make sure that it wasn't an Outlook Express issue). The Router isn't the issue because we've actually plug the computer directly into the modem and had the same results. There are two other computers on this network and they're able to access the files OK.

Any thoughts?

This is a known Outlook/Outlook Express issue.
You need to do a complete windows update or visit microsofts site: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/ie/...p1/default.asp

to get IE 6.0 SP1. This will take care of your issue.
