Sorry for the delay in responding D.Arbib, as I have been away on business for a few days.

This link should help you with respect to Automated System Recovery in Windows XP: -

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/h...tomatic_sr.asp

The article also states that you only require one blank 1.44MB floppy disk.

I hope this helps you.

NO this just doesn't work - it was the first thing I tried and doing this the wizard asks for a floppy which it then says is full and asks for another and another and says it will take 6 hours to. effectively, back up all programs I have on my drive.

That was a quick response! LOL

Well, it would appear that you have an issue with Mr Gates's software!

Seriously though, I would sincerely advise you to invest in backup software such as Norton Ghost 2003, which is what I use.

I realize this does not solve your issue, however, using software such as the above is a real life saver, as it makes an exact image of your HDD that you can very quickly and easily load onto your PC, in case of a disaster.

You can pick up some good deals on Ebay: -

That is all I can advise you to do.

Good luck anyway.
