Yes I have...a different thread listed steps on how to go through Start/Run and making sure that [i]Windows Audio[i] was enabled.

I think I will take it back for service as this issue sounds a little more complicated than everyone's issues

Thanks for the help,

3 boards at MSI and 2 audio drivers
This one with Via HD audio http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?f...1&prod_no=1150
a zip file

the other has Realtek HD http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...Audio%20Codecs
install this way
Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

The site is slow

Set a System Restore Point before installing driver just in case
Start / All Programs / Accessories / System Tools / System Restore / select Create a restore point and follow instructions

That board has Realtek AC'97 go here http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/...tDown=false#AC

Your audio plugs must be on the I/O plate for this driver to work, if you use an expansion slot then you have a Sound Card installed, see here, click the image to focus
http://www.overclockeddoc.com/bookwo...0io%20slot.JPG

Tick I accept the above – wait till site resets then click Next

Download the (Executable file) save to desktop, double click downloaded file on desktop to install

I called tech support and they went thru stuff, but in the end they said most likely the registry is corrupted and they said they can't help me to go to regedit to fix this problem.

Man I don't want to reformat my computer because of a start up thing. I have uninstalled the program and changed the directory name to see if I can't fix it that way. Also did a clean sweep of the program. Nothing.

If someone can think of something maybe I haven't tried. Thanks

do you mean the splash screen that loads as soon as you start the comp?

Right, i uninstalled a load of programs and bits from my computer and now i have no sound. I must of accidently undone something i shouldnt have and this seems to be the place to sort it out! Everytime i turn my computer on it prompts me to install new hardware but it wont do it automatically. I am not too computer literate so i have no clue what is wrong! Help.

I did the belarc thing, (see below), any suggestions?
