Start / all programs menu .... I need help

Hi all,
Firstly I'll say a big hello to all of you as I'm new to the forum

I have an anoying problem in that when I click on the start button then hover over "all programs", when the list of programs is displayed I cannot right click my mouse and carry out any of the commands I used to be able to i.e sort by name, delete etc, can anyone help me out please ?

I'm using XP Pro if that helps at all.

Right click Start/Properties/Customize button/Advanced tab.
Make sure Enable dragging and dropping is checked.
