Analyzing/Defragging problems...

I have windows xp professional and every time i try to analyze or defrag my harddrive through the "Disk Defragmenter" that comes with XP my computer would restart. I bought Diskeeper Pro hoping it'll fix my problems but i'm still getting the restarts. I've set my computer to show the blue screen (of death) instead of restarting. but that didn't seem to help at all LoL only tells me to check my drivers and stuff...

pleaseee help meeee!

right click the drives you are having problems with, select properties, then tools. under error checking click check now. check the boxes for auto fix system errors and scan and fix bad sectors. it should tell you that windows has to be rebooted to run, and ask you would you like to schedule it, click ok. reboot. it will run scan disk, if you do not abort. after the check disk has finnished try to defrag again. if this does not help post back and let us know. someone may have other suggestions.
