Unhappy CD-RW driver corrupt and other problems

hi i have tried everything and everywhere to fix my problem and still no results i am hoping someone here can help me

ok i run XP pro and the other day i took my Pc to my mothers it was working fine while there for 3 days i did not go online or insert any disks but when i brought my computer home i found that it now only likes to stay active for about 20min sometimes longer, it freezes completely on me i cannot do anything except reset. then in an attempt to fix this problem i did a system restore and found that when my Pc rebooted i had no CD-RW an error came up saying the drivers for this divice are either missing or corrupt so i search my computer for the drivers and they where there so i concluded they must be corrupt, i have tryied several fixes such as undoing system restore but my computer will no longer do system restores either, i also tried deleting the divice and re installing it this did not work so i downloaded updated drivers this also did not work and now i am at a loss i have tried that regestry thing to.

HELP me please my computer is very importaint to me as i will go INSANE if i cannot get back to my games and music

oh i have
259 ram
60 gig hard drive
and a diamond data CD-RW drive
and that is basically all i know about this computer
oh and a P4 chip

You've moved the computer twice. I would suggest that, before you do anything else, you take the panel off the case and check to see if anything (boards, connections, etc.) has been shaken loose. Also, recheck all of your connections. Your problem doesn't sound like a badly seated board or loose cable, but you should check everything anyway.
